This weekend, a piece of news too interesting not to share came across our desk here at Ferrari of Long Island. It seems that an organization known as Extreme Motorsports based in the UK is very interested in breaking the land speed record for “fastest speed for a car driven blindfolded.”
Yes this is actually a world-record that has been officiated by Guinness and the current record stands at 186.12mph. It was set last year by a legally blind man piloting a Porsche at Bruntingthorpe in England. You can see him setting the world record in this video:
Now the guys at Extreme Motorsports think they can shatter this standing record if they enlist the help of a Ferrari 458 Challenge. As of right now, it seems as though this organization is still looking for a driver brave enough to take on this challenge. So if you think you might be spending some time across the pond this year, it could be worth reaching out and offering to be their champion.
For information on owning a 458 Challenger of your own, our staff here at Ferrari of Long Island is here waiting to speak with you.
