Serious Ferrari lovers will soon have a new vacation destination to set their sights on after it was announced recently that construction of the new Ferrari Land theme park and hotel is now underway just outside Barcelona Spain.
This will actually the second Ferrari-themed amusement park to open in recent years. The first is called Ferrari World and was only recently built in Abu Dhabi. Ferrari World is a massive 21 acre theme park filled with exciting rollercoasters, shopping centers, and children’s rides. Both Ferrari World and the planned Ferrari Land in Spain are heavily influenced by Formula One racing since the sport is so popular in those areas.
Ferrari Land has plans to open its doors to the public in 2016 and will include the amusement park as well as a 250-room hotel that is designed to resemble a Formula One race car. It is designed to have 5-star service as well as numerous restaurants and shopping areas.
Andrea Perrone, the managing director of the Ferrari brand, recently commented, “Ferrari Land will appeal to entire families as well as Formula One supporters. We will continue to further look at the launch of additional Ferrari them parks outside Europe with no rush, while continuing to maximize the value of our prestigious brand without diluting it.”1
We are still a long ways off from the opening of Ferrari Land, but it is always great to know what a large following our brand has across the Atlantic.
