458 Spider "Best of the Best"

Maranello, 7 June 2012 – The American magazine Robb Report - one of the world’s
most important luxury periodicals - has awarded the 458 Spider the title of “Best of
the Best 2012” in the convertible category. This prestigious award follows the 458
Italia's title in the sports cars category in 2011.

Performance, handling, control systems and design provided the 458 Spider with
the same title already conquered by the coupé. The drop-top version of the 458
won the award also because of the innovative hard top solution which, combined
with the mid-rear engine, provides an even more engaging engine sound in the
cockpit.

The 458 Spider is fitted with Ferrari's 570hp 4.5-litre V8 engine which won the
2011 International Engine of the Year award. Featuring a double-clutch F1
gearbox, the car can accelerate to 100 km/h in less than 3.4 seconds from 0 to100
km/h and continue to a top speed of 320 km/h. The exceptional 458 Spider is best
in class not only due to its performance, but also thanks to impressive levels of fuel
consumption and emissions. Thanks to the HELE system (High Emotion Low
Emission s ) combined consumption is 11.8 l/100 km with CO2 emissions of just
275 g/km.

For Eric Clapton, following the project through from what was, essentially, a blank
canvas, was ‘one of the most satisfying things I’ve ever done.” Unique and
irreproducible like the final car.
